KreativeDNA licenses Adobe Reader Mobile SDK from Datalogics

Chicago-based company announces licensing agreement with Australian developer.

The MiGear eBook Reader is a compact, lightweight device that can store up to 2GB worth of eBooks (around 1200).  Weighing only 315 grams, it features a 7-inch TFT color display, 800 x 400 screen resolution and is compatible with the Adobe DRM EPUB format, as well as PDF, TXT, CHM, RTF and HTML. It also handles audio (MP3 and WMA) and picture files (JPEG and BMP), enabling users to listen to music, watch videos and view images in addition to reading eBooks. Users can seamlessly source a wide range of eBooks from online bookstores via PC and Mac and transfer eBooks to the MiGear eBook Reader via USB. It stores an even broader collection of eBooks using the micro SD card slot which provides up to 16GB of additional storage. Users can experience up to 8 hours of reading in one charge. Recharging the device is conducted via a USB socket (USB charge cable supplied), and comes with one rechargeable polymer battery.

The Adobe Reader Mobile SDK is a software development toolkit developed by Adobe which provides EPUB and PDF rendering capabilities for handheld devices and smartphone applications. Device developers can take advantage of a mobile-optimized software engine, designed to deliver high-performance, high-quality scalable document rendering across a wide range of resource-limited embedded devices. Adobe Reader Mobile technology maximizes compatibility with the latest specifications and interoperability with Adobe products, and supports digital content copy-protected by Adobe Content Server (Adobe DRM). Hundreds of publishers, libraries, retailers and solution providers are distributing and managing eBooks using Adobe Content Server and secured with Adobe DRM. All of this content can be read by applications built using the RMSDK.
