New York, N.Y. and Chicago, Ill. / Rod Blagojevich, the former governor of Illinois, says he hopes to shake things up in the newly re-shuffled late night arena as he debuts as the first guest host of the new Internet-only late night talk show 'The Late Net Show.'
"I'm thrilled. I'm looking forward to hosting 'The Late Net Show' and interviewing provocative guests on a new concept show that's the future of the Internet and how programs are watched," says Blagojevich. "It's exciting."
Art of Talk TV (http://www.artoftalk.tv) announced (http://artoftalk.tv/2010/01/13/artoftalk-tv-launches-late-night-talk-show-online-with-rod-blagojevich/) that Blagojevich will host the program when it debuts next month and possibly several episodes thereafter. The program is designed to have revolving celebrity guest hosts.
'The Late Net Show' will be taped in New York City in front of a live studio audience just like any other late night talk show and will include a monologue, celebrity interviews, topical panel discussions, live music and surprise guests.
The only difference is that 'The Late Net Show' will broadcast on the Internet, with the social media audience in mind, instead of over the traditional tv airwaves.
“A late night talk show online offers a great alternative to TV late night talk shows and will allow for more genuine conversation, debate and creative expression," says Charlie Oliver, the founder of ArtofTalk.tv. "Rod Blagojevich shoots from the hip. It’s a natural fit. We look forward to him launching the premiere of 'The Late Net Show.'
Blagojevich is a frequent guest on news and entertainment programs and competes this March in Donald Trump's 'Celebrity Apprentice' on NBC. Blagojevich is featured in the February issue of 'Esquire' magazine.
He will continue to host his weekly radio show on WLS-AM, the top-rated Chicago radio station, says his spokesman Glenn Selig.
"He's been in the interview chair so many times but ‘The Late Net Show’ will provide him another platform to showcase his abilities and to make his guests shine," says Selig. "He's a curious person and he asks great questions. He's looking forward to launching the program."
