(PRNewsChannel) / Largo, Fla. / The Palms of Largo is the presenting sponsor of 'Focus on 2009, a Tampa Bay Economic Forecast,' the third annual Tampa Bay economic forecast presented jointly by the Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Largo Library Foundation.

A panel of respected experts in key industries and professions including finance, energy, real estate and tourism will present their outlooks for the coming year when they speak and answer questions.

“We’re so proud to be the presenting sponsor of this important event for the area,” says Robin Katchuk, Executive Director of Royal Palms at The Palms of Largo.  “The Palms of Largo is very much a part of the community and we’re pleased we can make this unique event possible.”

This year’s keynote will be 'The Effects of Sports on the Local Economy' by Bob Sullivan, president of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee. Sullivan oversaw planning for last season’s Super Bowl XLII in Glendale, Ariz. that generated more than $500 million for the Arizona economy. He will offer insight into that state’s Super Bowl success and what Tampa Bay can expect when the event arrives in February.

Other speakers will include Dr. Scott Brown, lead economist for Raymond James & Associates, Michael Talmadge, executive vice president of Echelon Real Estate Services, Danny Roderick, vice president of nuclear projects and construction for Progress Energy and Barry Pitegoff, vice president of research for Visit Florida.

Moderating Focus on 2009 will be Robert Trigaux, the business columnist for the St. Petersburg Times. The event will also feature the presentation of the Focus 2008 Tampa Bay Economist of the Year Award and the distribution of surveys to compete for that honor in 2009.
Focus on 2009 will take place at 3 p.m., Thursday, November 20, at the Largo Public Library, 120 Central Park Drive, in downtown Largo. A reception will follow immediately.
