(PRNewsChannel) / Largo, Fla. / The Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce selected The Palms of Largo as its first ever recipient of the Business Member of the Year Award. The honor was created to recognize a business or association that has risen above and beyond in its support of the chamber, according to Ricky Satcher, president and CEO of Largo Medical Center and chairman of the Board of Directors for the Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce.
“We love the community and we want to take care of the community like they take care of us,” says Robin Katchuk, Executive Director of Royal Palms at The Palms of Largo. “This award embodies everything that we’re about as a business member in the Bay Area.”
In presenting the award, Satcher honored The Palms of Largo for being a valued and dedicated Chamber partner by hosting the monthly 12 @ 12 business networking luncheons and through its participation in the Chamber’s Trustee Circle. Trustees provide annual investments above the regular membership cost.
“The Palms of Largo has proven year after year that they are a standout member of the Chamber and this community at-large,” says Satcher. “It is because of businesses like The Palms of Largo that we are able to have as much success as we have in putting on events each year.”
Among other charitable donations of time and money, The Palms of Largo was recognized for its third straight year as the presenting sponsor of the Chamber’s Economic Forecasting Focus program. This means a $10,000 commitment that has helped build the program into a success for the Chamber and the Largo Library Foundation.
Satcher even recalled a time when the Chamber held a painting party and The Palms of Largo offered one of its professional painters to assist.
“The Palms also contributes to all of our events with some really incredible gift baskets. And with such a deserving organization, the list goes on and on,” says Satcher.
More than 150 people attended the event at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort when The Palms of Largo was presented the Business Member of the Year award.
