Jaycees to Celebrate 75 Years in Indianapolis

(PRNewsChannel) / Indianapolis, Ind. / On October 10th, 2008 approximately 150 current and past Indianapolis Jaycees will gather to celebrate 75 years of “service to humanity” to the Indianapolis Metro area. This event is open to all past and present Indianapolis Jaycees, Indiana Jaycees, US Jaycees and JCI International members.
The event will take place at the Connor Prairie Museum Center, Woodland Hall, 13400 Allisonville Road, Fishers, Ind. 46038. The evening will be hosted by Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Jamar Cobb-Denard (www.JamarSpeaks.com). The short program includes a presentation of JCI Senatorships and a review of the chapter\'s most significant contributions to our community. A catered dinner and a cash bar will also be available. The event begins at 6:30 p.m and will last until midnight. The cost of the event is $45 per person or $85 per couple. Free Parking Included. In addition to the leadership training provided to over 35,000 members of the last 75 years, some notable projects the Indianapolis Jaycees have been involved in over the years include: Marion County Juvenile Center, Indiana School For Blind Sidewalk, Indianapolis Indians Opening Day Parade, Distinguished Service-Good Government Award, 500 Mile Pole Position Chief Mechanic Banquet, Harry E. Wood Jr. High School Clothing Drive, Downtown Fourth Fest, Uncle Sam Jam, Freedom Festival, 1976, 1985, 2006 US Jaycees Conventions, Holiday Food Basket, Fall Clothe A Child, and the State Fair Corn Booth.
The Indianapolis chapter of the United States Jaycees was created to help develop personal skills in our members, such as team building and leadership, through serving our community. We offer the best opportunities for BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, CAREER ADVANCEMENT, and COMMUNITY SERVICE to men and women 21 to 40 years of age. The Jaycees strive to provide opportunities for young professionals to build relationships while taking action in the Indianapolis community.
