MeterNet Signs License Agreement with Klausner Technologies

Cerritos, Calif. / MeterNet Corporation announced today that it has signed a License Agreement with Klausner Technologies for Klausner's Visual Voicemail Patents. The License Agreement covers usage by MeterNet on its Internet VoiceMail Network and branded services including WebPage VoiceMail, VoiceMail Pro and Military VoiceMail.
MeterNet is not a party in the voice mail patent lawsuit filed August 26, 2008 in U.S. District Court in Tyler, Texas. In the August lawsuit, Google, Verizon Communications, LG Electronics, Comverse Technology, Citrix Systems and Embarq were named as infringers of the Klausner Visual Voicemail patent. Klausner has previously sued and won settlements from Time Warner Inc's AOL, Vonage Holdings Corp., Apple and AT&T; Sprint Nextel Corp. and Comcast Corp. have also agreed to license agreements.
Klausner Technologies Inc., founded by Judah Klausner, inventor of the PDA and the electronic organizer, is owned by a group of private investors. It controls over 25 patents worldwide, covering voicemail services in which subscribers receive visual identification of their new voice messages, and then selectively retrieve individual messages via their PCs or cell phones.
Formed in 1996, privately held MeterNet integrates and markets Web Programs & Tailored Services. The company develops solutions to help client companies do business with their "late adopter" customers more effectively. Over its 12 year history, MeterNet has met demands of worldwide clients including Ziff-Davis, America Online, Alta Vista, Shopping.com and IBM.
