Chicago, Ill. - Joel A. Brodsky, the attorney for Drew Peterson, today accused the Illinois State Police (ISP) of engaging in 'psychological torture' of Peterson's children.
Brodsky posted a letter on the popular legal blog www.crimefilenews.com. The posting comes after Peterson's "friends" Paula Stark and Len Wawczak revealed that they secretly recorded their conversations with Peterson and used Peterson's children to get close to him. The duo also said they were acting as agents for the ISP when they did it.
"What is highly disturbing is how the ISP has allowed Drew's children to be severely damaged by the behavior of these informants," Brodsky writes. "The ISP knowingly allowed, or perhaps even directed Wawszak and Stark to become close with the Peterson children... Now these children have to be told it was all an act."
The ISP has not commented on whether Wawszak or Stark were working with them on any investigation.
Peterson said last week that he feels betrayed that his friends crossed the line of decency when they used his children to get close to him.
