Cape Coral, Fla. - Publishing franchise TheHomeMag today announced the availability of a new franchise business opportunity in San Mateo. The foreclosure crisis and slow housing market has driven the growth of the home improvement industry. Forecasts by the Home Improvement Research Institute project that sales of home improvement products will grow at an average rate of 6% annually over the next four years, reaching $381 billion in 2012.
The growth forecast of the home improvement industry is based on several factors:
•Over the next 18 months, foreclosures will likely peak with many foreclosed properties being acquired and in need of some remodeling.
•Many homeowners are choosing to renovate rather than relocate because of inability to sell their property in the current market.
•Two-thirds of existing homes are at least twenty-five years old, with many needing upgrading. Most critical components of a home, such as the roof, windows, and plumbing, have a useful life of 25-30 years.
Because of all these factors, TheHomeMag is experiencing a 180% year-to-date growth rate in the number of operating locations. Over 5.5 million magazines are currently mailed monthly, with a projected jump to 25 million (over a quarter of a billion per year) by 2012.
Chris Goebel, president of TheHomeMag, states “there is a flourishing opportunity in San Mateo to reach the target market for TheHomeMag distribution list, which is the top households in any of its markets. This also offers an excellent way for a sales-driven professional who knows the city of San Mateo and some of the factors that impact its local economy to create a successful, very profitable franchise business. We continue to grow because our franchisees realize that a poor housing market can mean a strong renovation market.”
The franchise model allows each franchisee to focus solely on sales consulting, customer service and business management. Design, production and distribution are handled by the franchisor, enabling franchisees to be successful without prior publishing experience.
