(PRNewsChannel) / Chicago - Perhaps you're suffering from flu-like symptoms or feeling the effects of severe allergies. What gives? It may be mold in your furnace causing you problems.
"Mold in furnaces is more common than you think," says Darryl Morris of Chicago-based SafeHVAC, an expert in mold eradication. "Mold grows in furnaces and this is the time of year when it's worst."
Byron Young from Chicago is so allergic to mold, it can land him in bed at home and sometimes even the hospital.
"My son suffers from similar severe allergies," says Young. "Any trace of mold could be a real problem for us."
Both father and son were recently feeling ill with headaches and flu-like symptoms.
For weeks and they couldn't detect any problems and they couldn't figure out why.
On a whim he contacted SafeHVAC for a free inspection of his furnace. And his gut was right: The company found mold in his furnace.
The company used a treatment involving ultraviolet rays to get rid of the mold.
"It's an amazing process to watch," says Morris.
UV-C Antimicrobial Treatment Ultraviolet lights are used. It's the same process that disinfects hospitals and sterilizes drinking water. The ultraviolet light is extremely effective in killing micro-organisms including bacteria, viruses, mold, fungus and spores, says Morris.
Now, Young and his son are able to enjoy active days and restful nights.
"I'm feeling better than I've felt in months," says Young.
Note to reporters and editors: Both Daryll Morris of SafeHVAC and Byron Young are available for interviews. We can also arrange for you to see or watch the mold eradication.
