(PRNewsChannel) / Marshalltown, Iowa – The video entries are streaming in from obese patients nationwide. As part of a contest, they’re posting videos on YouTube.com and MySpace.com, explaining why after trying to lose weight on they’re own, they want to enter a doctor supervised program and get help they need to lead a healthy life.
There will be only five winners. But each will receive $100,000 worth of medical treatment at the Aimin Weight Reduction Hospital in Tianjin, China, where the average person loses 22-25 pounds a month at the inpatient facility.
The contest was created by China Connection, a group bringing attention to the state-of-the-art medical treatments available in China—usually at a fraction of the cost of what they would run in the United States.
“This is a special opportunity for those who think they have lost their lives to excess weight and feel they have they no real future,” says Ruth Lycke, CEO of China Connection. “This is their opportunity to begin a winning tradition in their personal lives.”
Lycke is a stroke surviver who traveled to China to complete her rehabilitation. After five months of treatment, she returned to the U.S. fully healed. It was such an eye-opening experience, she has made it her business to educate Americans about the treatments available in China and arranges everything for those who want to receive treatment there as well.
China Connection is actively looking for extremely overweight individuals to introduce Americans to the weight loss program available in China.
“The person who holds the Guinness Book of World Record for greatest weight loss, dropped the pounds at in Tianjin, China at the Aimin Weight Reduction Hospital,” says Lycke.
The winners will be chosen March 27, 2008.
