(PRNewsChannel) / Nashville, Tenn. - An unedited version of President Ford's final memoir will soon make its way to print, the publisher announced today.
In the manuscript the former president writes extensively about East Timor and his role in it, according to book publisher Tim Miller.
"He came to me cursing and asked why anyone would want to talk about East Timor," remembers Miller. "He was very sensitive about the topic."
None of his views of East Timor made it into the memoir A Presidential Legacy and The Warren Commission that was published by Miller's Flat Signed Press.
But, Miller says, those chapters, which include both typed and handwritten notes, will soon be published revealing Ford's thoughts about the Indonesian invasion in 1975.
Ford on The Kennedy Assassination
Miller says there are also never before seen chapters on the Kennedy assassination, where the former president talks for the first time about Mary Mormon, the woman who was on the grassy knoll, witnessed the assassination but never interviewed.
Miller says Mr. Ford also talked about the current the presidential election and which Republican he supported.
