(PRNewsChannel) / Salem, N.H. - The doctors group IADMD.org is preparing to launch a brand new Web site to place more emphasis on the medical Web site design arm of the organization.
Though created to reform health care and to create a new whole-body, interdisciplinary approach to medicine, the International Assoc. of Dental and Medical Disciplines has invested heavily in a massive effort to create Web sites for doctors who want to establish an Internet presence.
Surveys show the vast majority of doctors, physicians and dentists, lack a Web site even though patients say they want their doctors to have them.
Experts say medical doctor Web sites, chiropractor Web sites or any kind of medical Web site or doctor Web site, are powerful marketing mechanisms just as they are for most businesses.
"It used to be word of mouth alone that brought in new patients," says Dr. John J. Ryan, DMD, founder of IADMD "But now patients turn to the Internet to find doctors and doctors who don't have Web sites are at a huge disadvantage."
The new Web sites being created will include a variety of medical Web site design templates suitable for physicians, dentists and other medical disciplines.
The Web sites have flash animation, are fully hosted, come with a paid customizable domain name, online bill pay and are customized to doctors and their doctors offices.
"We have the best Web site designers making the designs happen but it's doctors who are behind the Web designs," says Dr. Ryan. "Only doctors know what doctors really need in a Web site."
A fully customized, hosted Web site runs $1899 for the year. The only additional cost would be for normal bank and servicing fees associated with online bill pay
Through Dec. 31, each doctor Web site includes a free Web site marketing package worth $500.
