(PRNewsChannel) / Dallas, Texas / Debt Settlement America’s team of certified debt consultants work hard every day to educate consumers on their options when faced with insurmountable unsecured debt, according to the Dallas debt settlement company. Not only does the Debt Settlement America consultant inform consumers what options exist for someone with out of control credit card debt, but after in depth discovery sessions the consumer can make an educated decision about which option is best for them.
DSA’s Dana LaRue, I.A.P.D.A. certified debt consultant, has more than three years of experience as a debt consultant. Her passion for helping people is evident every time she picks up the phone to talk to a consumer in need.
When asked what her job as a DSA debt consultant means to her, Dana wrote, “I love the people – sincerely, this is the most fulfilling career I’ve had – and I’ve been at some wonderful companies. Very rarely are you lucky enough to see the direct impact you have on a family and the difference this program makes in their lives, knowing you helped them and made a difference for them. I’ve talked with people who haven’t eaten in four days because they had to pay their credit cards. They were being charged an average of 25% interest – so over half their money was going to finance charges.”
Dana said the most important thing when speaking to consumers as a debt consultant is to, “remember you’re talking to somebody’s mother, daughter, son, aunt, uncle or friend. Treat them, the way you’d want somebody else to treat yours. Most of the people I deal with are scared and upset to find themselves in a situation they never dreamed of facing. Once you educate them on their options – most people have three to five, sometimes as many as seven different options available – they are in a better frame of mind to make a decision. This is definitely not a program that should be 'sold'.”
LaRue says, “not everyone is a good candidate for a hardship (debt settlement) program. Sometimes there are better alternatives, and I’m happy to share that with them. Other times, debt settlement is the perfect solution. It isn’t easy by any means. It is designed as an alternative to bankruptcy. The good news is, once you’re qualified, there is never a penalty to get out early; it is less expensive, usually faster and definitely easier to recover from than a bankruptcy or consumer credit counseling program. In the end, they are able to make an educated decision based on fact, not fear.”
When asked about how she felt about her employer, Dana responded, “DSA may not be as large as Microsoft. We may not be a Fortune 500 company or make the CNNMoney’s 'Top 100 Companies to Work for' list in 2009 like Edward Jones and Cisco, butwe’ve got the heart, compassion, ethics, and desire to do the best we can every day to help consumers in trouble. And, many consumers refer to us as the best debt settlement company around.”
