(PRNewsChannel) / Nashville, Tenn. - Gerald R. Ford may best be known as the man who picked up the pieces of the Richard Nixon scandal, but on the first anniversary of Ford's death, conspiracy theorists are talking about the stunning revelation that Ford knew of the CIA coverup in the Kennedy assassination.
Before he died on Dec. 26, 2006, Ford was the last surviving member of the Warren Commission, which investigated the assassination of President Kennedy in 1963 and concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald was the only gunman. But Tim Miller, the publisher of Ford's final memoir, A Presidential Legacy and The Warren Commission, says he and the former president had many discussions about the assassination and Ford acknowledged that Oswald did, in fact, have help.
"He confirms the role of the CIA in hiding and destroying information regarding the assassination," says Tim Miller, CEO of Flatsigned Press.
Miller says he and Ford argued over what information should be included in the book, which would turn out to be Ford's last. Miller says the former president maintained that Oswald was the lone gunman but never insisted that Oswald was the only one involved in the plot.
"There is no doubt that President Gerald Ford knew more about the JFK death," Miller says.
Gerald Ford was 93 when died at his home in Rancho Mirage, Calif. He became president in 1974 after Richard Nixon resigned.
