New SATA Products Change Industry Perspective

Company officials said reaction to the new products from manufacturers and developers “has been overwhelming.” The drives, which use no moving parts, support faster interface than a standard 2.5 SSD without traditional space requirements. They also feature zero acoustic noise, and are far less prone to mechanical failure than traditional SATA solutions.

New SATAsfaction Series drives are available in a variety of capacities, and are specifically designed for applications where compact size and robust performance are required.

Ms. Deming  said, “The small form factor and the benefit of these innovative drives achieved through our proprietary ‘layer/stacking’ system,  also enhances on-board configuration  by ‘bridging’ above the board and connectors to virtually eliminate wasted space.”

amp inc.’s first product in this series is its SATAsfy drive, from 32 to 128GB. Suitable for virtually all embedded applications, SATAsfy is designed to tolerate high levels of vibration and extreme temperature fluctuations.

Also available is a SATA docking board to facilitate research and development applications.
