Doctor-led Health Care Organization Advises Dentists, Physicians to Wire to the Web
IADMD says lacking an office Web site could cost doctors patients.

(PRNewsChannel) / E. Hampstead, N.H. - The new doctor-led health care association IADMD® recommends physicians and dentists have a useful Web site for their medical practices—because lacking one could cost them patients.
Bolstered by a new poll from the online magazine InteractiveDad.com showing that parents not only expect their health care providers to maintain a Web site but some even saying they would only choose doctors with Web sites, The Int’l Assoc. of Dental and Medical Disciplines® again urges doctors to get wired to the Web.
“I think that some doctors may actually be losing patients because they don’t have a Web site,” says Dr. John J. Ryan, founder and president of IADMD®. “This is especially true when a doctor is new to a community.”
IADMD is in the middle of a massive campaign to connect doctors from all medical disciplines to patients and colleagues through doctor Web sites. The group is giving away state-of-the-art Web sites, fully hosted and customizable as a FREE membership perk to the organization.
Web sites being given away will offer a portal for doctors to securely consult with each other. They also connect doctors with their patients and enable patients to make doctor’s appointments and order prescription refills online.
According to the new InteractiveDad.com poll released last week, 76% of parents said they would use doctor’s office Web sites to ask for prescription refills if that were an option, but 56% said neither their child’s pediatrician nor their own primary care physician has a Web site; 28% said they had no idea whether their doctors, or their children’s doctors, even had a Web site.
Annual membership to the IADMD® organization is $1899. A fully hosted Web site similar to the one being giving away is valued at $2,500 and up.
