(PRNewsChannel) / New York, N.Y. / On the heels of the record breaking return of "Bad Girls Club" on Oxygen, the network debuts Oxygen's Tuesday Tweet, a new online tool for fans of the show to stay connected. Working with Twitter technology, Oxygen developed a brand new application that lets fans post comments and questions in real time online or from their mobile phone. The Tuesday Tweet is promoted through snipes on-air during "Bad Girls Club" as well as through blasts to the mobile fan club, in the weekly Oxygen newsletter, and on the www.oxygen.com homepage. You never know who might show up to tweet, "Bad Girls Club" cast member Ailea has already made a guest appearance. Oxygen's Tuesday Tweet can be found at twitter.oxygen.com.
"Oxygen's audience is always connected and always online, especially from the wireless devices they're addicted to. They are already familiar with Twitter and are tweeting with friends, so we created this application to capture that engagement and put it around "Bad Girls Club" and the Oxygen brand," said Jennifer Kavanagh, Oxygen's Vice President of Digital and New Media.
In an effort to reach the network's young, trend-obsessed, technology-consuming audience, Oxygen has developed a number of interactive ways for fans to get more involved with "Bad Girls Club." Fans will find exclusive photo galleries and personal pictures on www.oxygen.com where they can click through and comment. The website also features the bad girls' personal blogs, where the ladies dish about what really happened and what never made it to air; exclusive episode outtakes; and a photo captioning contest, allowing fans to submit cheeky captions for new "Bad Girls" photos each week. Viewers can also weigh in with their thoughts about the show and the girls by participating in a weekly mobile poll from their cell phones or mobile devices.
The season three premiere of "Bad Girls Club" made network history, becoming Oxygen's highest rated and most watched season premiere ever, based on Nielsen Media Research data. The website delivered huge increases leading up to the premiere as well, with www.oxygen.comnotching over a million page views the day of the premiere. And the season premiere was the most interactive of any premiere, with record-breaking participation during the live mobile poll. Viewers revealed that 83% would tune-in for the major catfights while only 17% would tune-in for the hot hook-ups.
