(PRNewsChannel) / Waikola, Hawaii / Whale season in Hawaii has begun, the perfect time to experience the breathtaking breaching and fluke-slapping action firsthand. And what better way than the Celebration of the Sea complimentary vacation offering at Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, located on the sunny Kohala Coast of the Big Island.
To jump-start Celebration of the Sea, Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa has teamed with Justin Viezbicke, Big Island programs coordinator for the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary. Beginning on December 16th, Viezbicke will give a free lively lecture and “talk story” with guests and kama‘aina alike on humpback whales in Hawaii. The sessions will be held at the resort from 6 – 7:30 p.m. on the following dates:
• December 16 and 30, 2008
• January 13 and 27, 2009
• March 3 and 17, 2009
And to top it off, from December 15, 2008 – April 15, 2009 during the annual winter whale migration off the Kohala Coast, guests who stay at the oceanfront resort for five (5) consecutive nights or more will automatically receive one (1) two-hour complimentary whale-watching cruise voucher per room booked. Aboard a luxury sailing catamaran, guests will have the opportunity to see these magnificent mammals up close and personal and learn more about these giants of the sea from professional marine naturalists from Ocean Sports, located just steps away from the resort.
Every November to mid-April, North Pacific humpback whales arrive in the Hawaiian Islands to bear their young and breed before returning to colder climates up north. And one of the best places to relax and view the seasonal event is at palm-fringed ‘Anaeho‘omalu Bay, fronting Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.
Guests of the resort will enjoy fresh, contemporary guestrooms, three swimming pools including a new infinity pool, pampering at the renowned Mandara Spa and easy access to ocean activities fronting the resort. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn more of the deep sense of a historical Hawaiian place set amid lush, tropical splendor.
The Celebration of the Sea activity is the first of the oceanfront resort’s “Celebration Series” of special vacation offerings that are unique to Hawaii. Given to all guests who stay at the resort during the activity dates for no additional cost, each activity is specially designed to embrace the three natural elements that the Big Island has to offer in such unique ways – the sea, land and sky.
Terms and conditions apply. Resort fee of $20 plus tax per room per day will be applied to the daily room rate. Offer cannot be combined with any other promotion.
