His career in dentistry began when he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center – College of Dentistry. Dr. Baker undertook multiple externships in oral and maxillofacial surgery while at the University of Nebraska. Driven to complete further training, he completed a 4 year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Baker is determined to enhance his patients’ quality of life, providing high quality, individualized care in order to ensure the most optimal results. With a passion for his work and commitment to patient care, he is recognized for his expertise in all facets of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
At the age of 6, Dr. Baker immigrated to America from Finland with his non-English speaking mother and 4 year old sister. His mother wanted to provide a better life for her children and help them realize the American Dream. For decades, he has served of the youth of his community by coaching multiple youth sports and helping young men through his support of the Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Baker is an Eagle Scout, as are 4 of his sons and 3 of his son-in-laws.
Dr. Baker is committed to keeping current with the new developments, guidelines, and procedures in his field. He has visited Peru for humanitarian expeditions three times and is committed to caring for the underserved populations. He is on the Board for Idaho Condor which provides medical, surgical, and dental care to indigent people in Peru.
