Darkes is an established Registered Nurse who continues to provide exceptional care and support to her patients within The King’s Academy in Mohrsville, Pennsylvania. Featuring over four decades of experience in her field, she has a special expertise in school and pediatric nursing. She is also a Certified School Nurse.
Joy’s career in nursing began in 1970, when she earned her hospital-based Nursing Degree from Reading Hospital. Pursuing further education, she went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1990 from Kutztown University. Joy is an inductee of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and obtained certification as a Certified School Nurse.
Joy keeps current with the new nursing developments, guidelines, and procedures through her membership with the National Association of School Nurses. She is passionate about providing high quality care to her students, and attributes her success to having always wanted to be a nurse. When she is not working, Joy enjoys swimming.
