
The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Ann C. Galligan, Ed.D, PMHCNS-BC to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Ann C. Galligan is an established Clinical Nurse Specialist, Child/Adolescent Mental Health Specialist, and Nurse Educator who continues to provide exceptional care and support to her patients within her own private practice in Massachusetts. Featuring over five decades of experience in her field, she has a special expertise in child and adolescent psychotherapy.
Ann’s career in nursing began in 1967, when she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Boston College. An advocate for pursuing further education, she went on to earn her Master of Science Degree in Nursing in Maternal Child Nursing in 1970 from Boston University School of Nursing. She received her Doctorate in Nursing Education in 1981 from Teachers College-Columbia University. Thereafter, she returned to Boston University and obtained a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing in 1988. In 1990, Ann was certified by the ANA as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Child and Adolescent Nursing. She remains a distinguished member of the American Nurses Association, the Psychiatric Nurses Association, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Ann has spent most of her career teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs of nursing (including College of Mount Saint Vincent (tenured), Simmons College, Northeastern University and Boston College). She continues with her private practice treating the mental health needs of children and adolescents.
For her wealth of experience and knowledge, Ann has been published in several articles, and has dedicated her life to providing the highest standard of quality and compassionate care to her patients. With a passion for enhancing her patients’ quality of life, she attributes her success to being fortunate to have had excellent mentors throughout her career who guided her to achieve her optimum potential and career goals. In her free time, Ann enjoys water coloring, playing tennis, and spending time with her grandchildren.
