Kegel is an established Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who continues to provide exceptional care and support to her patients within St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut. Featuring over three decades of experience in her field, she has a special expertise in critical care, acute care, cardiopulmonary care, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and nursing management.
Lisa’s acclaimed career in nursing began in 1987, when she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University. An advocate for continuing education, she earned her Master of Science Degree in Nursing in 1993 from the University of Pennsylvania. Since graduating, Lisa has completed a number of advanced training courses, and holds additional certification as a Certified Critical Care Nurse.
To stay current with the latest advances in her field, Lisa remains a distinguished member of the American Nurses Association, the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and she is also an inductee of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is committed to enhancing her patients’ quality of life, and attributes her success to her strong work ethic, her values and morals instilled by her parents, as well as her mentors, in particular her mother who was also a nurse.
