
The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Michael Purnell, RN, BSN, MSN to their prestigious organization with his upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Michael Purnell is an established Registered Nurse who continues to provide exceptional care and support to his patients as a Quality Nurse Consultant within NCAL Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California. Featuring over three decades of experience in his field, he has a special expertise in critical care, cardiovascular surgery, neurologic intensive care, and general intensive care.
Michael’s acclaimed career in nursing began in 1987, when he graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Tennessee College of Nursing in Knoxville. An advocate for pursuing further education, he went on to earn his Master of Science Degree in Nursing in 2012 from San Francisco State University. Since graduating, Michael has completed a number of advanced training courses, and holds additional certifications as a Certified Critical Care Nurse and Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse.
To stay current with the latest advances in his field, Michael remains a distinguished member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, the Association for Nursing Professional Development, the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He is committed to enhancing his patients’ quality of life, and attributes his success to his faith, his adaptation to lifelong learning, and his core belief in patient advocacy. In his free time, Michael enjoys helping dogs find homes and traveling.
