John Gambale joins the Board of Directors at Junior Achievement of New York

(PR NewsChannel) / April 23, 2018 / NEW YORK

Junior Achievement of New York (JA New York) announced today that a new member was elected to its Board of Directors. JA New York officially welcomed John D. Gambale, President, New York Zone, AIG. Since 1929, JA New York has worked to provide K-12 students from New York City, Long Island and the Lower Hudson Valley with the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices.

As President of the New York Zone, John is responsible for the overall operation of the zone, effectively representing national priorities and executing AIG’s local go-to market strategy for multiple lines of General Insurance business. Close collaboration with product leadership to deliver tailored distribution, segmentation, and customer-centric solutions are critical to the success of these priorities. John’s appointment is a result of the optimization of AIG’s U.S. field operations, which are moving from four to six zones and as a standalone zone, New York will now have the dedicated leadership and focus to elevate client and broker engagement and help drive profitable growth.

Previously, John was the Northeast Financial Lines Executive where his responsibilities included strategically driving all product, distribution, and talent management initiatives across Boston, New York, and Philadelphia for Financial Lines; including but not limited to Directors & Officers and Cyber Liability insurance.

John joined AIG in 1999 and has held several roles of increasing responsibility during his tenure with the company. Most recently, John was Head of Professional Liability and the Lexington Financial Lines Executive for the U.S. and Canada, responsible for the Cyber Liability (Network, Security & Privacy), Miscellaneous, Media, Accountants, Lawyers Malpractice, and Architects & Engineers Professional Liability portfolios in the U.S., Canada, Bermuda, and excess and surplus London market.

From 2009 to 2012, John was Head of the Private/Non-Profit Management Liability Division in the U.S. and Canada, responsible for Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Fidelity, and Kidnap and Ransom portfolios for domestic and multinational private companies and non-profit organizations.

John graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science degree in Resource Economics and holds an M.B.A. from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University.

“Our board continues to grow and diversify to reflect the wide range of sectors that will employ young people in the future,” said Joseph A. Peri, President of JA New York. He added, “We are excited to welcome John to JA New York’s Board of Directors. His energy and enthusiasm for our mission, as well as strategic expertise, will help us to better position and strengthen our brand in a competitive educational marketplace.”
