Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his internship and residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Pursuing advanced medical training, he then undertook his fellowship training  in Cardiovascular Diseases at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn.

Dr. Ahmad is certified in Nuclear Cardiology by the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and in Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography. He is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of an array of heart related diseases and conditions, and he is an expert in performing echocardiograms, nuclear stress testing and ultrasounds, as well as cardiac catheterization and other minimally-invasive procedures, allowing patients to get the care they need while avoiding surgery whenever possible.

Dr. Ahmad has earned the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and is a distinguished member of several professional societies, including the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the American College of Physicians.
