Dr. Hendin’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he graduated with his Medical Degree from New York University. Since graduating, he has completed a number of advanced programs, and remains committed to staying current with the latest advances and developments in his field.
Dr. Hendin is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is a distinguished member of the American Psychiatric Association. He has written 10 books and hundreds of research articles that have helped mental health professionals in their work with patients at risk of suicide, and also founded two national foundations, Suicide Prevention Initiatives (SPI) and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. When he is not working he enjoys playing tennis.
