Dr. Israel P. Chambi is a highly experienced surgeon, having practiced neurosurgery for more than three decades. His distinguished medical career initiated at the National University “ San Agustin” of Arequipa, Peru and began in 1977, when he graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico Faculty of Medicine in Mexico City. After moving to the United States, he completed his training in Neurological Surgery at the University of Toronto, and a two year fellowship in Stereotactic Neurological Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Chambi is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, and provides surgical solutions for a wide variety of neurological conditions in patients of all ages. Conditions treated by him using a minimally invasive technique and operating microscope include, disc herniations and spinal instability causing neck and back pain, nerve repair in patients with a thoracic outlet syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatic nerve pain, spinal and brain tumors, stroke due to a cerebral aneurysms, and cerebral and spinal arterio-venous malformations and hydrocephalus.
Dr. Chambi has been awarded the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and he is the author of a number of medical papers and articles. His expertise and dedication makes Dr. Israel P. Chambi a very worthy winner of a 2017 Top Doctor Award.
