Scott Corbett is an established Gastroenterologist currently serving patients within the Gastroenterology Associates of Sarasota in Sarasota, Florida, a division of Florida Digestive Health Specialists. He is affiliated with Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Featuring nearly four decades of experience in his field, Dr. Corbett has a special expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of Barrett’s esophagus, acid reflux and esophageal disorders. He is a highly regarded therapeutic endoscopist.
Prior to his career in medicine, Dr. Corbett obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry Magna Cum Laude from Hofstra University, and also attended the United States Naval Academy. His career in medicine began in 1979, when he graduated from New York University, School of Medicine. Upon earning his Medical Degree, Dr. Corbett completed his internship, residency and fellowship with the University of Miami Affiliated Hospitals – Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Corbett is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Subspecialty Board of Gastroenterology.
To stay current with the latest advances in his field, Dr. Corbett remains a distinguished member and Fellow of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Florida Gastroenterological Society, the Sarasota County Medical Society, and the Wilderness Medicine Society. For his wealth of experience and contributions to his field, he is the recipient of numerous honors, and has participated as a researcher and investigator in several different projects. Dr. Corbett has dedicated his life to providing the highest standard of quality care to his patients, and when he is not working he enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, biking, fishing, camping, rafting, and painting.
