Dr. De Lange’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 1982, when he graduated with his Medical Degree from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Dr. De Lange is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is member of many professional organizations including the European Society for Cataract and refractive Surgeons, Southern African Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, the South African Glaucoma Society, Ophthalmological Society of South Africa as well as an elected member of the prestigious International Intra-Ocular Implant Club. He is renowned for his expertise in cataract surgery and refractive surgery, and was the winner of the 2009 Kritzinger Safari Lecture and Medal, and a 2001 DJ Woods Memorial Lecture and Medal.He is a past President of the Ophthalmological Society of South Africa as well as the Glaucoma Society of South Africa. In his free time, Dr. De Lange was an accomplished marathon runner.
