Dr. Juliet Lee is an established General Surgeon currently serving patients within The GW Medical Faculty Associates in Washington, D.C. She is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at The GWU School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Director of Undergraduate Surgical Education, and Associate Program Director for the Residency Program in General Surgery. She has a special expertise in trauma, abdominal surgery, bariatric surgery, and thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
Dr. Lee graduated with her Medical Degree with a distinction in research from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. She subsequently completed her residency training at George Washington University Hospital, before undertaking a research fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at the Children’s National Medical Center and additional research fellowship in Immunology at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Lee is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and remains a distinguished member of the American College of Surgeons, the Young Surgeons Committee for the Washington Chapter of the ACS, and the Association for Surgical Education.
Dr. Lee has dedicated her life to providing the highest standard of quality and compassionate surgical care to her patients, and is noted as an expert in appendectomy, cholecystectomy, inguinal hernia repair, ventral or incisional hernia repair, small bowel resection, colectomies, and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. For her wealth of experience and commitment to her work, she has been published extensively and is the recipient of numerous teaching awards. Dr. Lee attributes her success to providing patient centered care, the support of her colleagues, and staying current with the advances and developments in surgical care.
