During its annual meeting today, Tampa’s newest synagogue, Congregation Mekor Shalom, today welcomed a new President-elect, Vice President and five members to its Board of Trustees.

Glenn Selig, who has been president of the Congregation located in North Tampa for the last two years, will continue as president for another year.

To ensure a smooth transition for when Selig’s term is up, Mekor Shalom amended its bylaws to create the new position of President-elect. Filling that position is Yael Hatfield, who has been a Trustee.

Also today, Brandi Gold was elected as Vice President, vacating her position as Trustee as Large.

The Executive Board is Selig, Hatfield and Gold, along with Larry Koppelman, who continues as Treasurer, and Andrea Zuta, as Secretary, for another year. Neither Koppelman nor Zuta was up for election.

The Trustees elected today, each for two year terms, were: Jo Bakal, Tammy Dwoskin, Tracy Gold, Jennifer Goldberg and Mark Hershenson. Continuing on the Board, each with one year remaining, are Sandy Feuerstein and Jim Jacobs.

Departing the Board were Cindy Sherr, who served as vice president, along with Trustees at Large Barbara Felder, Wendy Koppelman, Michael Lewis and Marjorie Sandler.

“I want to thank the outgoing board members for their invaluable contributions to the growth of this synagogue,” says Selig. “I want to welcome each new member of the executive board and the trustees. I am so thrilled with the caliber of individuals who’ve joined and the energy they bring to the table.”

The Annual meeting, held in the atrium of the synagogue, was shown in real-time on Facebook Live.
