Highly Respected Surgical Oncologist, Carolyn Nessim, MD, MSc, FRCSC, FACS will be Presented in The Leading Physicians of the World

The International Association of HealthCare Professionals is pleased to welcome Carolyn Nessim, MD, MSc, FRCSC, FACS to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Carolyn Nessim is an established Surgical Oncologist currently serving patients within The Ottawa Hospital located in Ottawa, Ontario. She also serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Ottawa, and as a Clinician Investigator in the Cancer Therapeutics Program at The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. Dr. Nessim is currently the program director of the Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship training program at the University of Ottawa. Moreover, Dr. Nessim has publications in peer-reviewed journals, and her main research focus is identifying predictive markers in cancer care as well as quality and access to cancer care for patients.

Dr. Nessim’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 2004, when she graduated with her Medical Degree from the University of Montreal. She then obtained her Master’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2014 and serve her General Surgery residency within the same institution. Pursuing advanced medical training, Dr. Nessim completed her Surgical Oncology fellowship at the University of Toronto, and undertook an additional fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Center in Melbourne, Australia. She is board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery, and also obtained board certification in General Surgical Oncology and General Surgery with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, of which she is a Fellow. Dr. Nessim has also earned the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

To stay current with the latest advances in her field, Dr. Nessim remains a distinguished member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Canadian Society of Surgical Oncology, the Canadian Association of General Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the Canadian Medical Association. She has dedicated her life to providing the highest standard of quality care to her patients, and has a passion for the surgical field and for her patients, as well as her kind, empathetic, and personable approach to medicine. Dr. Nessim attributes her success to the excellent mentors and teachers she has had, and dedicates her free time to theatre, music, painting, reading, eco-traveling, canoeing, rafting, hiking, and camping.
