Dr. Mohtashemi’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 1964, when he graduated with his Medical Degree from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. After moving to the United States, he completed an internship at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center, followed by residencies at the New York University School of Medicine, Meadowbrook Hospital, Nassau University Medical Center and the Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Mohtashemi has earned the coveted titles of Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Diplomate of the American Board of Gastroenterology, and he has dedicated his life to providing the highest standard of quality and compassionate care to his patients. He was a former member of both the American Medical Association and the American Gastroenterological Association, and attributes his success to his ability to focus on the most important issues. When he is not working Dr. Mohtashemi enjoys studying and writing.
