GIVING KIDS A FIRST LISTEN TO THE LATEST IN MUSIC INNOVATION

Bay Area DJ Company Brings Silent Disco Technology to Great American Teach-In
(PR NewsChannel) / December 27, 2017 / PINELLAS PARK, FL

A Tampa Bay-based music entertainment company recently put their own spin on this year’s Great American Teach-In at Morning Star School in Pinellas Park.  Midnight Music DJ & Entertainment, which just introduced the burgeoning Silent Disco technology to their service offerings, put it on display for the school’s students during the annual event in November.  Each student received their own individual headsets, through which the DJs “silently” transmitted a variety of different musical options for them to enjoy and dance to.

“Morning Star loved Silent Disco,” stated teacher Alyssa McGee.  “It really allowed each one of our students to enjoy music their own way – they loved being able to choose their songs and control their personal volume.  It was so much fun!

The Silent Disco event provided students with the opportunity to express themselves uniquely by selecting their choice of music using their headsets.  With the music inaudible to those not wearing headsets, it also caused no interference to Morning Star’s normal operations – which is a strong selling point not just for schools but a variety of venues that host events.  Being able to adjust volume to desired levels is another attractive feature for listeners, who can play music for up to 12 hours on one battery charge without killing their eardrums.  Furthermore, the headsets’ 1-mile reception radius make Silent Discos an ideal option for outdoor venue settings while still ensuring full compliance with noise ordinances.

After working independently for years, Co-Founders/Lead DJs Rich Elsner and Shawn Drouin started Midnight Music in January of 2017.  Elsner’s first break in the industry came back in 2013 after securing a weekly DJ gig at The One Night Stand, a downtown St. Petersburg bar that he can still be found at today.  Drouin, the veteran of the company, starting DJing 15 years ago during a job with the City of St. Petersburg – and has played to crowds of up to 3,000 since then.

Silent Discos are proving to be a refreshing departure from the norm for schools and other venues seeking something more from their music entertainment.  In addition, Midnight Music also offers end-to-end DJ service for the full spectrum of event types – including weddings, birthday parties, corporate functions, and many others.  The company’s first year has been jam-packed with bookings like these, as well as a number of appearances at breweries and nightlife venues around the Tampa Bay area.

But the opportunity to bring smiles to the young faces at Morning Star still stands out as the company’s most rewarding performance to date.  Elsner confirmed: “It was so great to come out to Morning Star and let these kids experience such a unique event.  The look of surprise when their favorite songs played was such a sight to see.  We can’t wait to introduce the next group of young minds to Silent Disco.”
