Dr. Tefera’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 1991, when he graduated with his Medical Degree from Addis Ababa University’s Gondar College of Medical Sciences in Ethiopia. After moving to the United States, he completed an internship at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in New York, before undertaking his residency training at the Montefiore Medical Center, also in New York.
Dr. Tefera is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and remains a distinguished member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians. Alongside his clinical work, he also lectures for physician and nurse practitioner students at the New York Medical College. Dr. Tefera has dedicated his life to providing the highest standard of quality and compassionate care to his patients, and when he is not working he enjoys basketball and soccer.
