The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Mary A. Luckett, MSN, RN, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Mary A. Luckett is an established Registered Nurse and Nutrition Educator who served as Professor with the Houston Community College in Houston, Texas. With more than four decades of experience in nursing and education, she is a specialist in nutrition education.
Mary’s acclaimed career in nursing began in 1969 when she graduated from the Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, becoming a Registered Nurse after passing the State Board Examination. An advocate for continuing education, Mary returned to Texas Woman’s University, gaining her Master of Science Degree. Since graduating, she has completed a number of advanced training courses, and holds additional certification as a Vocational Nursing Educator, certified by the Texas Education Agency since 1977.
Mary has a wealth of experience as both a practicing nurse and as a nurse educator. She is particularly renowned as a nutrition educator, but she also teaches and lectures on subjects including Basic and Advanced Nursing Skills, as well as running Licensed Vocational Nurse training courses. She is a distinguished member of the American Nurses Association and the Texas Nurses Association, and in 2014 won a NISOD Excellence Award. When she is not working, Mary enjoys reading and gardening.
