Dr. Thomas Purgett is an experienced physician, having been in practice for more than three decades. His acclaimed career in medicine began in 1986 when he graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He then completed an internship and residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Purgett is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and provides surgical solutions for a wide range of conditions and traumas, and for patients of all ages. He is especially known as an expert in endocrine surgery, and in advanced laparoscopic surgical procedures such as inguinal hernia repair and fundoplication.
Alongside his practice, Dr. Purgett serves on the Baylor Medical Center Grapevine’s Board of Trustees, and he is a former Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at the hospital. In recognition of his expertise he has earned the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
