Matrix Design, LLC announces the launch of their Deburring Applications Laboratory, a fully enclosed system consisting of a Fanuc M-20iA35M robot with four stations which can be easily configured to accommodate four unique deburring technologies at each location. The lab will deburr real parts with real burrs to develop the optimal tooling and robot cycle to provide the customer with real results. Once sample parts have been deburred, the customer is provided with their fully deburred parts, and a report detailing the process, cycle time, and estimated tool life (when possible).
“What many people don’t realize is that robots can simulate the delicacy of human movements,” says Jeff Bennett, VP Sales and Marketing, “The flexible human touch from a robot is made possible with Matrix Design’s proprietary adaptive technologies. These technologies can monitor wear, ensure consistent finishes, and minimize cycle times. Anyone who is still manually deburring parts should consider whether an automated process is feasible and our new Deburring Lab can help them with the determination. We encourage those looking to automate to send in their parts for an evaluation.” Ken Harvey, VP Engineering, states “it takes the guess work out of whether a part is a good candidate for robotic deburring and provides the customer with real results they can count on.”
Having a deburring applications lab to validate processes instantly boosts efficiency and quality because the customized design of the deburring operation will be done right the first time. Once a process is developed by proving the capabilities of the robot and their unique applications, a custom machine can then be designed to meet end-users’ particular needs. Matrix Design is encouraging those interested to contact them to solve their next deburring challenge.
