Vigen Vick Abovian, MD, is a highly experienced and respected Family Medicine Physician with an extensive expertise in all facets of his work, especially primary care in the fields family and geriatric medicine. Dr. Abovian attended the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, where he gained his Medical Degree in 2001. After returning to the United States, he completed a postgraduate year at New York Medical College Fifth Pathway program, followed by a transitional year at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Family Medicine program, and family medicine residency at the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi – County Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Abovian is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and is a distinguished member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is also noted as an expert geriatrician, as well as being a specialist in preventive medicine, women’s health, and the treatment of skin disorders and musculoskeletal disorders.. He attributes his success to his ability to communicate clearly with his patients and build a rapport with them. When not working, Dr. Abovian enjoys spending time with his family, reading and traveling, and he is also an exponent of mindfulness.
