The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Virginia Lachance Nichols, BSN, RN, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Virginia Lachance Nichols is a recently retired Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse from Las Vegas, Nevada, and previously affiliated with the University Medical Center. Featuring over four decades of experience in nursing, she had a special expertise as a NICU, home health, and pediatric trauma nurse.
Virginia’s acclaimed career in nursing began in 1972, when she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Marymount College in New York City. Since graduating, she has completed a number of advanced training courses while practicing as a nurse, and held additional certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and was a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant.
Throughout her distinguished career, Virginia worked in many areas of the nursing field. She has also been a nurse supervisor, and still serves as a BLS, ACLS and PALS instructor. She remains a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and has been nominated five times for a Nurse of the Year Award. Virginia attributes her success to her love of nursing, saying that it’s in her blood as her father was a doctor, and her brother and aunt were also in healthcare. Now retired from nursing, Virginia enjoys reading and embroidery.
