She remains a distinguished member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia, and attributes her success to her great training, her determination, and the support of her family and colleagues. In her free time, Dr. Akhavan enjoys traveling, visiting the gym, and spending time with her children.
