The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Robin Carmichael, RN, BSN, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Robin Carmichael is an established Registered Nurse currently serving nursing education staff in Career Systems Development’s 13 Job Corps centers nationwide, and she is also affiliated with Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Featuring nearly three decades of experience in her field, she has a special expertise in education, critical care, and intensive care nursing. Robin successfully obtained the first Apprenticeship for Certified Nursing Assistants.
Robin’s acclaimed career in nursing began in 1990, when she graduated with her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Des Moines Area Community College. Thereafter, she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing Magna Cum Laude in 2014 from Regis University. An advocate for continuing education, Robin is currently pursuing her Master of Science Degree in Nursing with a focus on Leadership in Healthcare Nursing Education at Regis University with a projected graduation in 2019. She has completed a number of advanced training, and is a Certified Critical Care Nurse.
An inductee of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Robin is an active member of the American Nurses Association and the Iowa Nurses Association Public Policy Committee. She works with the Iowa Direct Care Advisory Council, and engages in many volunteer ventures. Moreover, Robin has a biography on the ANA Healthy Nurse Healthy Nation website and is participating in a nationwide effort to improve the nation’s health by starting with their 3.8 million RN’s. She is the recipient of the Center Director Award by the Federal Job Training program, and attributes her success to being mentored by exceptional nurses with strong ethical skills, as well as her love for nursing and teaching. She enjoys making a difference in the lives of others, and in her free time Robin enjoys kayaking and photography.
