In the shadow of the U.S. Capitol, attorney Jack Burkman, announced that he has filed suit against the DNC and its 2016 nominee Hillary Clinton, on behalf of Bernie Sanders supporters and other Democrats, seeking an infamous computer server and damages in the tens of millions.
Burkman and the plaintiff, Gary Frazier, a former East Coast coordinator of the Bernie Sanders for President campaign, who presented the suit at a Tuesday morning press conference are suing due to a failure in transparency and impartiality.
The lawsuit claims that “… despite multiple public declarations of neutrality and impartiality… the DNC was biased in favor of one candidate – Hillary Clinton.” Those efforts to bolster Clinton came at the expense of DNC donors who supported Sanders, the 18-page lawsuit says.
The DNC server could contain copies of emails and other information which would prove the claims asserted in the lawsuit.
“My client is rightfully angry. He hoped his party would nominate the candidate who deserved it, not fix the system,” says Burkman. “Whether you are a Republican or a Democratic wrong is wrong!”
Seth Rich connection
Burkman, who has been one of the most vocal forces behind solving the high-profile murder of DNC operative Seth Rich, says DNC could help illuminate what happened to Rich and whether he was involved in leaking DNC emails.
Evidence crucial to the Seth Rich murder investigation could be buried in DNC server as well.
“The key to this case lies in the computer servers that the defendants have steadfastly refused to turn over,” the lawsuit claims.
“We know this wasn’t a random killing,” says Burkman. “Rich was targeted. Our job is to now investigate everyone who may have wanted him gone. This email server is crucial to the investigation’s next steps.”
With so much at stake, the lawsuit says Hillary Clinton is essential to the plaintiff’s case. With her being involved in nearly all decisions by the DNC during the 2016 primaries, no case could be credibly filed without making her a defendant.
Pending the results of the suit, Burkman and the plaintiff hope to involve forensic investigators in dissecting the email server. The results would either mark a breakthrough or rule out a popular theory surrounding the murder. Should the suit fail, Burkman has plans to revisit the courtroom.
