Pollard, MD, FACP, Oncologist to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Ester B. Pollard is a highly trained and qualified physician with a vast expertise in all facets of her work. She has been in practice for over two decades, and is currently serving patients within Coastal Bend Oncology/Hematology in Corpus Christi, Texas and is also affiliated Spohn Hospital Shoreline, Spohn Hospital South, Spohn Hospital Beeville, and Bay Area Hospital.
Dr. Pollard’s acclaimed career in medicine began with an excellent education at Incarnate Word Academy in Corpus Christi, Texas, followed by graduation from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Upon earning her Medical Degree, she completed an internship at Wayne State University in Detroit, followed by her residency at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem and Columbia University. Pursuing advanced medical training, Dr. Pollard returned to Texas, where she became the First African-American Woman to complete an Oncology of Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Pollard served her country in the United States Air Force where she attained the rank of Major. Dr. Pollard is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and has earned the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Physicians. She also has several publications, one addressing bone mets in cancer patients.
To stay current with the latest advances in medicine, Dr. Pollard remains an active member of the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Texas Society of Clinical Oncology, and the National Black Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Pollard attributes her success to her dedication, excellent education and research presently not impressed breast cancer in a community setting, patient care, the latest technology, and her desire to make a difference. She is Medical Director for a Hospice and Home Health Agency. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Mr. William Pollard, her three daughters; Tommie Wilson, Assistant District Attorney for Los Angeles County, Leighann Pollard-Hill, R.N., with a Masters in Biology, Elizabeth Pollard, M.D., Medical Oncologist in Irvine, Texas, Amari Pollard, and her Grandkids, gardening, watching movies, and spending time with her 6 dogs.
