Barry T. Bloom, M.D. is a highly experienced physician, having been in practice for more than three decades. Dr. Bloom remained in Wichita for his residency, before completing a fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Bloom is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, in General Pediatrics and in Neonatal -Perinatal Medicine. He is renowned across Kansas and beyond as an expert in this latter field, providing diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of conditions. Conditions treated by him include Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Neonatal Infections and extreme prematurity.
Alongside his practice, Dr. Bloom currently serves as a Professor and Director of Neonatology Division at Kansas University, and he is at the forefront of neonatal clinical trials. He was the first director of quality improvement for MedNax, the parent company of Pediatrix Medical Group and currently serves as the National Medical Director of Neonatology for the Hospital Corporation of America.
