Dr. Nafiseh Hashemi is a highly trained and qualified Ophthalmologist with an extensive expertise in all facets of her work, especially in the diagnosis and then treatment of eye conditions related to neurological conditions. Dr. Nafiseh Hashemi attended the Iran University of Medical Science in Tehran, where she gained her Medical Degree, after which she completed an internship in General Surgery and Internal Medicine, and then a residency in Ophthalmology. After moving to the United States, Dr. Hashemi completed a further Surgery internship at the University of Tennessee, followed in turn by her residency at the University of Texas Health and Science Center in Houston. She has completed her Neuro-Ophthalmology fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital, under the tutelage of the world renowned neuro-ophthalmologist, Dr. Andrew Lee.
Dr. Hashemi is noted across California for her expertise in neuro-ophthalmology, and she is an active member of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She is particularly renowned for her expertise in the treatment of advanced ophthalmic and neurological conditions including optic neuritis, intracranial tumors, optic nerve tumors, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, thyroid eye disease, and brain and optic nerve strokes. Dr. Hashemi says that her great success as an ophthalmologist has come because of her hard work and her determination to achieve her goals. When she is not working, she enjoys hiking and spending time with her family.
