What do you get when you strip away everything a person has? For Kyle Veazey, it was a determination to succeed. Last September, Kyle was on the brink of bankruptcy. This past May, he put it all on the line, and with what little he had left, applied for a $15,000 personal loan to start an investment business. Not only have the investments done well, so has his telling of it.
“I’ve wanted to start a blog for a long time just by always having a love for writing,” says Kyle, “I could just never find something to write about.”
That all changed when his hobby of stock trading turned into a career that now allows him to live off of his methods of investing. Using a method called the Fibonacci retracement method that he was able to teach himself, Kyle has begun averaging 2% net profit per week. Even with the Dow being affected, Kyle is still making money investing in gold.
“I’ve really started to enjoy my job. They always say if you find something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. I really just consider stock trading a hobby, though I will say, it’s been a profitable one,” Kyle explains.
Recently, he started a financial blog that is patterned after the popular late night show, The Daily Show, blending financial news with comedy. It has already taken off with Kyle’s skill for social media marketing through the use of Instagram, and Twitter.
“I’m still developing my overall online brand, but the jist of it is in place. I’m working with a really good marketing firm in Chattanooga to help me polish things up,” Kyle states.
Kyle’s plans are to remain focused on the stock trading, post entries to his blog that updates Monday through Friday, along with contacting college fraternity, and sororities this school year to try to get scheduled to come share his story of overcoming ADD, OCD, Tourette’s syndrome, seven types of cancer, a brain tumor, not one, but two strokes all before the age of 16, being on the brink of bankruptcy, and successfully starting an investment business all within 20 years.
Currently, Kyle has been accepted to Penn State University, as is scheduled to start in the Fall of 2018. This November, he has an audition and interview at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he will attempt to be accepted there as well.
“I’m saving up for Penn State, so I can pay for it in cash. Berklee is a little different,” Kyle says, “I’m only going to go there if they give me a presidential scholarship. I want people like me who have severe handicaps, and are told constantly that they’ll never succeed to look at me, and say, ‘He was paralyzed, and he not only got in, he got a full scholarship. If he can do it, I can do it.’ Basically, I want to go, so other people will too.”
