Proficient Registered Nurse, Miriam C. Madden, RN, BSN will be Announced in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare

The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Miriam C. Madden, RN, BSN to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. She is an established Registered Nurse currently serving patients as a Staff Nurse within Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, and is also affiliated with the Department of Veteran Affairs. Featuring over three decades of experience in nursing, Miriam is a specialist in ICU/CCU nursing, with strong clinical judgement. also served as a staff RN for five years in The Heart Station, caring for patients with conditions such as acute coronary syndrome and acute decompensated heart failure, among others.

Miriam’s acclaimed career in nursing began in 1976 when she graduated with her Licentiate in Nursing from the ENE Arzobispo Loayza Institute in Peru. She then completed her Nursing Degree from the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia, followed by her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the Peruvian National University Federico Villarreal, completed in 1985. For her wealth of experience and dedication to her work, Miriam is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including the Nurse Image Maker Award in 2004 by Sigma Theta Tau Delta Alpha Chapter. Following the completion of her Licentiate in Nursing in 1976, Miriam served with the Peruvian Republic Coats of Arms Ministry of the “Navy Surgeon Major Santiago Tavara” at the Naval Medical Center until 1984.

Miriam is an inductee of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Delta Alpha Chapter, and a professional member of the American Heart Association Cardiovascular Nursing Committee and the San Antonio Cardiovascular Society. Outside of nursing, Miriam engages in volunteer work as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer for children who have been removed from their homes by Child Protective Services. She is appointed by the judge of the Children’s Court in Bexar County, Texas to help determine the best interest of the child/children she is assigned. Miriam attributes her success to the new opportunities each new day brings, her love for nursing, the support of her family, her professional skills, and her teamwork approach. In her free time, she enjoys kickboxing, martial arts, yoga, reading, and dancing. Miriam also dedicates her time to church work with ACTS activities.
