Exceptional Nurse Educator, Phyllis Jean McGilbray, BA, RN, will be Presented in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare

The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Phyllis Jean McGilbray, BA, RN, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Phyllis Jean McGilbray is an established Registered Nurse and Nurse Educator currently working as an Independent Contractor Provider for the State of Oklahoma. Featuring over three decades of experience in her field, she is a specialist nurse educator and behavioral health nurse, as well as an expert on developmental disabilities.

Phyllis Jean McGilbray gained her ADN from Oklahoma City Community College in 1985. She was recognized for her excellence in nursing academics, receiving an award in “Outstanding Person in Biological sciences”, and “Outstanding Nursing Scholar”.  She also attended SNU for her Bachelor’s degree in Management and Staff Development. Upper graduate work was completed from Northeastern University in psychological education. She then became specialized in adult and child psychiatry through a certification program for nurse specialist. She has since completed a number of advanced training courses in both Nursing and Education.

Alongside her work as an Independant Contractor Provider for the State of Oklahoma, Phyllis serves as an adjunct instructor for Moore Norman Technology Center. There she teaches Medication Administration for the state certification required for the Department of Human services for Developmental Disabilities Services. She also teaches Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers through the American Heart Association. She also teaches for East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. There she teaches Developmental Disabilities Medication Administration, Advanced Health care training for required training for the Department of Human Services, Developmental Disabilities Division. To keep up to date with the latest advances in her field, she continues on-going continuing education programs, She has served in the Oklahoma Nurse Association as well as the Oklahoma Nurse Executives organization. Phyllis attributes her success to her long experience as a nurse, as well as her belief in continual education and learning. When she is not working, Phyllis enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
