The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Candace Cochran, RN, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Candace Cochran, an established Registered Nurse and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, served patients within the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, (Texas). With over three decades of experience in nursing, Candace featured expertise in neonatal nursing. She retired from her nursing position as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner from UTMB on October 31, 2016, after 34 years of practice.
Candace graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. An advocate for continuing education, her Master of Science Degree in Nursing followed from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She is a Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified, and is also the recipient of the March of Dimes Excellence in Perinatal Award in 2011.
Candace was coordinator of the Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, in both the NICU and newborn nurseries, and the neonatal transport team at the University of Texas Medical Branch. To keep up to date with the latest advances in nursing, she remains an active member of the Academy of Neonatal Nursing. She attributes her success to her passion for the patients in her care, working in an academic center, never being stagnant on learning, and her dedication the patient population that she works with.
